Wow, MD I didn't realize I was that memorable to you. I drop in every few weeks or maybe after a month or two, and after an absence like that I can see that I am still uppermost on your mind...along with GC, of course. Hey Gutcheck, I guess we must be special!
Seriously, though, Mammadawg, I would think you would have better things to do and more important things on your mind than to keep on like that. If I offended you I have already told you repeatedly it was unintentional, and I apologized publicly on this board more than once. You refused to accept any apology, so I think that tells us all something about the people on here and the quality of character.

Well well, country girl, I believe sometimes what we write has no other goal then relieving our own frustrations.
Does it change anything or anyone? I doubt it. I spent five days in the hospital last week. I fell and suffered a pelvis break. With plenty of time on my hands to reflect and count my blessings, I remembered when Benton had very few medical facilities. When I read complaints I am reminded of just how much I have to be thankful for.

I have the most caring, wonderful , friends in the world. Not because they do for me, but because I know they are “willing” to do anything they can for me if I should ask.
‘I have moved “permanently” to my son and daughter-in laws’ home. Life couldn’t be better. I will be on bed rest for the next 3-4 weeks with OT’s , PT’s and bathers visiting.

While I was in the hospital I got the best care possible without exception. Not a single person came into my room without making my life at the very least, just a little bit more pleasant.
At home through the years Up-link has done the same.

Hey Grannye,

I hope you are feeling better soon. A broken pelvis is a serious injury. I hope the doctors can get you back on your feet quickly. We will keep you in our prayers.

I don't think the Up-Link website will be anymore than it is now unless they come up with something new to offer. I wonder how the Up-Link business is going too and how long it will last. I figure we will soon have to permanently migrate over to one of the other local forums. Of course, none of them are equal to Up-Link back in its day.

Even though I often disagree with GC's methods and assumptions, he is the only one remaining that still makes new and interesting posts. And I salute him for that.

Thanks Handy and Slam, The Lord is good to me and I have wonderful people caring for me. I couldn’t ask for more. There is very little pain involved, but bone healing cannot be rushed, so one goes with the flow.

I pretty much agree with you but it was new and a novelty then. We did not discipline ourselves,(at least I didn’t) well enough. I believe we likely misjudged others based on our own surroundings. (What else does anyone have to compare to?)
Whether it will come back is up to the people who like it. Everyone can contribute and make an interesting and informative site to read. We will never be able to chew one another to pieces and still have an audience. I love a good debate, but I also appreciate people respecting one another.
You and Gut have proven you can debate without being mean spirited. Right will always be right and wrong will always be wrong.
Opinions differ, case in point “You found the “editorial errors” very funny. I found them sad, to irresponsible because it reflects just how dummed down our media are. Where will it end? The Editor have a responsibility to their community to print the News fairly and responsibly. We simply cannot trust them to be honest with us any more, much less responsible.
