Windows 7 Works Great! - So far...... 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: -2
I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate on an old throw-away 2002 Gaterway with a 2.0 Gig Single-core Pentium 4. I was able to stuff 2 gigs of RAM into it before I installed and WOW! It works very well.

That old computer was bad slow but now it hums along pretty quickly. Obviously, Windows 7 makes much better use of memory to make up for the slow CPU. This is so much better than Vista. I think Microsoft finally got it right with this one.

And the best part is that you can buy perfectly legit activation codes for Windows 7 for about $25 each. This is way cheaper than buying one at the store for $139 plus tax.

There's this couple at church that keep wanting me to fix their old virus-ridden Dell computer about once a month. I think I'm going to just take their old computer and give them this one with Windows 7 on it. For now, I'm through doing free PC repair. From now on it's going to be a trade-in deal with $25 to cover the Windows 7 license. This will make life much simpler.

Now how about that? just about the time I decide to ask you for more free work, you quit.
No I am kidding, I thank you for the help you gave me but I have decided to simply pass the laptop along (with it's problems), to another student. It has served me well but it is needing a new connection cord for the dial up and I have replaced it once already to the tune of about $15 dollars. That should be within even a student's reach.

I was glad to hear about the Windows 7 because that is what my daughter inlaw picked up for me and it runs like a dream. She will set it up for dial up, and also highspeed that she subscribes to here.
Thanks again Handy, what would we do without those in our community who share their good fortune, and tallents with everyone.
