Greetings Blue 7 Months ago Karma: 7
For my dear friend Old Blue; Greetings!

I know I don’t have to remind you of the times we have laughed. Laughed about serious things , silly things ,just about everything we discussed it seemed. If it wasn’t funny when it happened it could be turned into laughter at a later time it seemed, lessons were learned throughout my life which I was able to turn into blessings by simply waiting for “this time to pass.”

Well it seems I have a lot of idle time now which I put to good use. At least I think so. I have been working the puzzles in the Courier since subscribing again last June. I have saved them and created my own personal reference sheets to help me in the future. Many of the words are in none of the 5-6 dictionaries I use to work the puzzles. The dictionaries range from a Webster’s New World College Edition through a $1. Dollar General Oxford Essential Business and Office Dictionary.

If I continue a hundred years at this pace I might be able to speak: French, Spanish, German and who know what other languages included in these well researched puzzles. Anything but English because thus far, English isn’t in the fore front of the writers, ( Who no doubt glean their fodder from the internet.) Neither do the dictionaries have them,( what are our children learning?)

BTW: the kids are moving me in and going shopping for me a new computer, things couldn’t be better, one son emailed he was in Quebec waiting for a flight back to Texas, then on home to No. Little Rock. He hasn’t had a full day off the last three months, going from Canada to Mexico and all points in between.

Enjoy this beautiful (stay inside) weather friend,
Grannye

Thanks a heap for the encouraging e-mail, I do not send much but read everything I get. This computer is limping along with a mind of it's own, (my new one is sitting on the floor ready to be un packaged and set up.) Becky will be able to do it tomorrow when she is off work.

I am doing great, but still primarily on bed rest with my own PT therapy routine for the next three weeks. Pretty much moved in here. We will have to talk later. I hope all is well with you. Again thanks!

Thank you Slam, to be honest it would be hard not to rebound fast with all the wonderful care showered on me.

BTW: I want to say a final "thank you" to all the wonderful people who made a contribution,(or even wanted to) to the fund for a computer for me back in July, 2005.

Some will remember I was writing a weekly column for the seniors. I could not have accepted for myself but for the seniors I would have accepted anything. It was a simple thing that seemed to be enjoyed by the seniors. I never felt I would be able to part with the computer. It stored a lot of good memories.

I now recognize it is time to move on and allow someone else to take advantage of it. My daughter in law plans to give it to a young lady at her church who might be able to put it to good use.(If her family ok's her having it.) A special thanks to Bob Booker, who started the ball rolling, and others who helped.

My family have installed a new one for me and it is great to have a new and more efficient model to work with.

No matter what some may think of UP-link, it has served our community well throught the years. Benton is a community of wonderful people.
